About the Author

Heather A. Wixson is a film journalist, author, and special effects historian whose work has been dedicated to documenting and preserving the history of horror, fantasy, and science fiction filmmaking for nearly two decades.

Originally from the Chicago suburbs, Heather relocated to Los Angeles in 2009 to pursue a career in entertainment journalism and has since become one of the genre's most respected voices. Throughout her career, she has contributed to numerous publications and outlets, including Fangoria, Fangoria Magazine, Neon Splatter, Dread Central, ReMind Magazine, FEARnet, and Terror Tube. For over a decade, she served as the Managing Editor of Daily Dead until she retired from working the entertainment journalism beat in 2024. 

These days, you can find her work featured regularly on home media releases for ARROW, Second Sight, Hammer Films, and 88 Films, as well as on her website.
